THE INFORMATION CONTAINED ON THIS SHEET PERTAINS TO THE FOLLOWING EXHAUST AND MANIFOLD PAINTS WHETHER IN BULK (PINT) OR AEROSOL:

YOU ARE ABOUT TO USE THE VERY BEST EXHAUST AND MANIFOLD FINISHES THAT HAVE EVER BEEN PRODUCED. THEY HAVE GONE THROUGH LONG AND EXHAUSTIVE TESTS BEFORE BEING INTRODUCED ON THE MARKET AND FAR SURPASS ANY OTHER PRODUCT OF THEIR TYPE REGARDLESS OF COST.

SHELF LIFE OF THESE PRODUCTS- PINTS (UNOPENED), THREE YEARS- AEROSOLS, ONE YEAR. HOWEVER, MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDS THAT THIS PRODUCT BE USED AS SOON AFTER PURCHASE AS POSSIBLE.

STORAGE OF THIS PRODUCT- CANS SHOULD BE STORED IN COOL DRY PLACE, NOT NEAR HEAT OR FLAME. AEROSOL CANS SHOULD BE STORED IN INVERTED POSITION.

BEST RECOMMENDED TEMPERATURE FOR USE- BETWEEN 60-90 DEGREES FARENHEIT.

FOR BEST RESULTS, USE THE PRODUCT THE WAY IT COMES OUT OF THE CAN. DO NOT THIN THE PRODUCT FOR SPRAYING AS THIS WILL DILUTE THE PRODUCT AND POSSIBLY AFFECT ITS DURABILITY.

BEFORE USING, SHAKE AEROSOLS VIGOROUSLY. SHAKE OR MIX PINT CANS THOROUGHLY UNTIL ALL PIGMENT IS UNIFORM THROUGHOUT THE CAN.

FOR BEST RESULTS, MANIFOLD OR EXHAUST SYSTEM SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE CAR BEFORE APPLYING, HOWEVER, WITH A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF EXTRA WORK, MANIFOLDS AND EXHAUST SYSTEMS CAN BE COATED ON THE CAR. REMEMBER, THE JOB YOU GET WILL BE ONLY AS GOOD AS THE PREPARATION AND THE COATING WILL ONLY ADHERE TO WHAT IS UNDER IT.

PREPARATION FOR PARTS THAT ARE REMOVED FROM CAR

MANIFOLDS- IT IS BEST TO HAVE MANIFOLD SANDBLASTED OR BEADBLASTED FIRST TO REMOVE ANY OLD FINISH, RUST, OR SCALE. IF NOT POSSIBLE TO BLAST, MANIFOLD SHOULD BE THOROUGHLY WIRE-BRUSHED. BLOW OFF ALL SANDBLAST GRIT AS SOME SANDBLAST GRIT CONTAINS "SILICA" AND CAN KEEP PAINT FROM ADHERING. WASH OR WIPE DOWN MANIFOLD THOROUGHLY WITH LACQUER THINNER. DO NOT USE TURPS OR PAINT THINNERS OF ANY OTHER TYPE, AS THEY MAY CONTAIN A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF OIL WHICH CAN KEEP THE PAINT FROM ADHERING.

HEADERS, MUFFLERS, TAILPIPES. IF NEW PARTS, WIPE THOROUGHLY WITH LACQUER THINNER. MOST NEW PARTS HAVE A FINE PROTECTIVE COAT OF OIL WHICH WILL KEEP THE PAINT FROM ADHERING. IF PARTS ARE GALVANIZED, THEY SHOULD BE TREATED WITH A METAL ETCH FIRST (AVAILABLE FROM BILL HIRSCH), OR LIGHTLY SANDBLASTED, THEN BLOWN OFF AND WIPED DOWN WITH LACQUER THINNER..

FOR PARTS THAT YOU DO NOT REMOVE FROM THE CAR

MANIFOLDS- REMOVE ALL TRACES OF DIRT, GREASE, OIL, ETC. THEN THOROUGHLY WIRE BRUSH THE MANIFOLD TO REMOVE LOOSE SCALE, OLD PAINT, RUST. LEAVE METAL A BIT ON ROUGH SIDE TO GIVE BETTER ADHESION TO THE NEW FINISH. WIPE MANIFOLD DOWN WITH LACQUER THINNER TO REMOVE ALL TRACES OF DIRT, OIL, ETC. BEFORE APPLYING FINISH.

HEADERS, MUFFLERS, TAILPIPES. FOLLOW SAME DIRECTIONS AS FOR MANIFOLDS (ABOVE).

APPLICATION OF THE PAINT

DO NOT USE PRIMER ON ANY PARTS- USE PRODUCT DIRECTLY ON BARE METAL

AEROSOL -IT IS BEST TO APPLY SEVERAL VERY LIGHT COATS RATHER THAN 1 OR 2 HEAVY COATS. YOUR FIRST COAT SHOULD ONLY BE A DUSTING COAT, HARDLY AMOUNTING TO MUCH COVERAGE AT ALL. WAIT 10 MINUTES BETWEEN COATS AND APPLY A LIGHT COAT AGAIN. DO THIS AS MANY TIMES AS YOU FEEL IS REQUIRED OR UNTIL YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THE DESIRED FINISH. SHAKE THE AEROSOL CAN FREQUENTLY TO KEEP THE PIGMENTS IN THE CAN, IN SUSPENSION.

BRUSH APPLICATION- WE RECOMMEND A RUBBER OR FOAM SP0NGE BRUSH FOR BEST RESULTS. IT LEAVES NO BRUSH MARKS AND IS CHEAP ENOUGH TO THROW AWAY AFTER YOU ARE FINISHED WITH IT. ONE APPLICATION SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO COVER THE PARTS YOU ARE DOING, BUT IF A SECOND COAT IS REQUIRED, WAIT 30 MINUTES BEFORE APPLYING SECOND COAT.

SPRAY APPLICATION- (NON AEROSOL).NOT RECOMMENDED AS BRUSH APPLICATION ABOVE WILL ACHIEVE SAME RESULTS.

CURING- ALL EXHAUST AND MANIFOLD PAINTS NEED HEAT TO CURE. THIS CAN BE ACHIEVED WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. THE HEAT RUNNING THROUGH THE MANIFOLD AND EXHAUST SYSTEM WILL CURE THE COATING, HOWEVER, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU WAIT 2-3 DAYS AFTER APPLICATION OF THESE PRODUCTS BEFORE STARTING ENGINE. THIS WILL GIVE THE SOLVENTS IN THE COATING, TIME TO EVAPORATE.

PROBLEMS- IF YOU NOTICE THE NEW FINISH BUBBLING OR COOKING WHEN MOTOR IS RUNNING, SURFACE WAS NOT DRY, NOT CLEAN OR CONTAINED AN OILY SOLVENT BEFORE YOU PAINTED. TO CORRECT THIS, LET SURFACE COOL. CLEAN AFFECTED AREA(S) AS OUTLINED UNDER "PREPARATION" ABOVE. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO THE ENTIRE SYSTEM OVER AGAIN AND YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE ANY PARTS FROM THE CAR. THEN RE- COAT AS OUTLINED UNDER "APPLICATION"

BE SURE TO STORE IN A COOL DRY PLACE AWAY FROM HEAT AND DIRECT SUNLIGHT. PLEASE WEAR GLOVES AND GOGGLES (IF SPRAYING) WHEN USING THIS PRODUCT. AVOID CONTACT WITH SKIN. AVOID PROLONGED INHALATION OF FUMES OR VAPORS AND BY ALL MEANS, KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN OR PETS
